“I want to do something extraordinary, build self confidence, jump start my new healthy lifestyle” - Jason Bliss

Well, I don’t know what to say. The holidays were amazing! My cousin’s new baby girl is the cutest thing ever! I assure you I am not planning on leaving you all uninformed, there just isn’t much to write walk related during these winter months. LoL, I really don’t want to dive into my home personal life with my brother and family, they don’t want their stuff up on the site I am sure. I did have lots of fun but now it’s back to work, training and studying for the rest of my journey. I am working directly with my brother preparing him mentally and physically. I really want to get him on a program with an exercise bike to get him in shape for that, it’s all about being prepared. If he comes and hates it and leaves that will put such a huge blow to me now that my spirits are high of having him with me.

He is a little cautius about joining me on a bike while I am not. I am not against riding with him, in fact he is super excited about maybe joining the group going to Alaska that was in that post. He thinks that would UNREAL. But I stick behind my decision concerning getting to Dallas. I don’t know what will happen after Dallas like I said, things change but I am planning on walking/running from Hot Springs to Dallas. If things do change and I end up going to Alaska with my bro it will be made clear to me and then to you by me. But I will definitely be walking half the country and making it to the pacific on my own power. Wonder if I can walk from Dallas to Alaska. Think that is possible? lol.

I have a bike that I am going to modify and we are reviewing gear lists and such. I should make enough money minus cost of living to purchase everything I need and some food when I start up again. I will try to keep people posted as much as I can with relevant info on this site. But I am sure you don’t want to hear about my day at work, or the book I am reading… just walk related stuff. As always, to make it interesting comment on anything at all… ask questions and I will answer, about anything really. Thanks.

Yay, J! You’re back. Belated as it may be… MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR! Glad to hear you got to enjoy the holidays with your family and that your brother still plans on joining you. Do you still plan on heading out the first week of March? I’ll keep checking the site regularly for updates, so don’t make your junkies wait too long between posts… Later! :)

Sounds like you come back with a more positive attitude after the holidays. I’d like to see you finish the walk to California, with or without your brother but it’s your life.

Keep us updated. My 2 cents on this is plan for the walk and finish it off. You will have accomplished something that most people wouldn’t even attempt and also realize after all you have been thru that you can overcome and accomplish anything.

That was me that mentioned Alaska, haha, sorry to have gotten you two sidetracked :) I hope you can help them with your enormous experience and they can help you with their veritable army of supporters. Are you still against accepting monetary donations? I know in the beginning you were, but if that’s changed I think you should allow us to send you money; I wouldn’t mind sending my tithe to you.

Welcome back! Glad to know your goal is still there, even if you are undecided about the route. So you think you will make it to California? As stated before, this was your goal….walking was your game….so foget all the trivia about meeting with people and spending time. Make your goal your goal! Keep us informed about your travels, your dreams, your weight (which was what started this entire event) and your locations. Yes, there are several people who are interested. I am interested to see if you keep up your original goal. With your brother along, that is either your problem or your salvation. Maybe he can keep you straight , or together you and he will cancel the entire plan. It is up to you!

I am 100% sure my brother is a missing link for me in my journey. I have so many experiences already that is hard for me to share with others. I feel like people don’t understand me, they can’t relate and its a little frustrating. But being able to share it with my bro is going to enhance my journey so much. Also about my travels to CA, yea that is still the goal but I work on short term. First is getting my brother and myself on the road to Dallas, the first step is the hardest. As for a weigh in, yea let me do that… I still believe I am at 280, but I don’t know actually. Weight used to be such a top thing on my mind no matter where I was but now its kinda on the back of my mind. I have more important things then being concerned with my weight. It’s not like I am not working towards health, I am not obsessed. Kinda like its breathing, I just work unconsciously about it if you can understand that. But I will get a weigh in, I think I lost a little weight but the holidays where a little rough on my. Mom is an UNBELIEVABLE cook and, well, yea you know. But let me get to that and get that too you, there is a YMCA downtown from me. Thanks for the “welcome back”. =D

Where are you now? How much healthier do you feel? Have you lost a good amount of weight? Do you have photos of your weight lose? It might be neat to look back on “the old you” one day.

    God Bless & Good Luck!
