My body apparently is super happy with where its at… no matter what I do my weight stays constant. I workout, I stay 280ish. I feast over the holidays, I stay 280ish. Still a long way from my goal of CA I am sure I will hit my 200 to 220 range but man, it just doesn’t move. Nothing much going on yet, me and my brother are about to have a talk and finalize somethings. It is sorta a meeting between us and I will let you know of anything concrete after said meeting. Other then that, I am growing bored of the regular daily life but it is hard to strive for certain goals like career and such when you know everything is only temporary.
I will have some info soon about progress on my book. I am a weird writer… everything has to be on paper first. Then I type it, print it double space and edit forever. Maybe that’s what everyone does but I can see why they say a writer can never start or finish a book. More to come.

The weight is at a plateau! Be Patient and it will happen.
I am also at a plateau with my weight despite Swimming, Biking, Hiking Yoga (That is a combination of 2 or 3 of those most days).

Jeff is correct on the weight thing. Not to mention the fact that you have changed your environment completely, along with the food you eat, your routine from what it was when you were walking. Give it time. You will start to lose again.

I have also been working on losing some extra weight too and I plateaued since Thanksgiving. On Wednesday I had finally dropped a little again. Hopefully this will happen to you too soon.

Jaybo you’ve lost so much weight your body is bound to come to a point where it says “stop!” It’s a plateau, just ride it out, you’ll break through it! Changing up your workouts or eating habits can help to move it along.

Your body adapts to the work you give it, so drastically changing what you’re doing will get you past this plateau. That may not be exactly possible with your current equipment (or lack thereof). It is also possible that 280 is your set-point. There is a theory in health/fitness that our bodies have a set-point that it is comfortable with. To get above or below takes constant maintenance in eating, exercising, sleeping, etcetc. Either way best of luck, and remember that health, not appearance, is the goal, and I believe you have done SO much in both areas.

It`s almost Feb. and according to you almost time to hit the trail. Do you know what part of the month you`ll be casting off? And have you got your phone back up and running? And how about those awsome photos? At your previous rate of travel, you could be in Dallas in 1 month, and man it`s all down hill from there!

I ran across your site searching for info on Yurts. I weighed 220 when I was 12 years old, now quite a bit taller and 45 pounds lighter at age 27. After leaving about 20% of my body behind, I went on to place in 5K races and complete a marathon.
Rock on with your fight for the simple life and don’t let others get you down. With a little planning I think it’s possible to live simply but comfortably on a piece of land you own free and clear. When that is established, folks still paying off their mortgages won’t be as quick to judge.
