Difference between the lux and lumens?
Hey everyone. I've been wanting to buy a light flash. I am a bit confused though. So far all I took a look at flash lights is measured their brightness in lumens, as this example: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-u4-mcu-cree-q5-wc-3-mode-230-lumen-led flexible flashlight-cr123a-18650-18500 17401-aaa- And this other light flash is found different dimensions. I do not understand it. http://www.dealtoworld.com/reviews-12479-50767-Bright+flushlight.html of output is 85 lumens ...? This flash is much better than the first, so I'm little confused. Can someone explain to me how this thing works? Also, if you any idea how much lumens the second flash light might be, please let me know. Thank you all.
From Wikipedia Lux against lumens difference between the luxury and the lumen is that the lux takes to the area in which spread the luminous flux. A flux of 1000 lumens concentrated in the area of one square meter, lights up that square meter with illumination of 1000 lux. However, the same 1000 lumens, spread period of ten square meters, produces regulators illumination of 100 lux. Achieving illumination 500 lux might be possible in a home kitchen One fluorescent light fixtures with power 12,000 lumens. To light a factory floor with dozens of times the area of the kitchen will require dozens of such fixtures. Thus, lighting more area at the same level of luxury requires a greater number of lumens
